The Agency for Restitution of the Republic of Serbia has returned 80% of church property, 55% of citizens' property and 16 facilities to the Jewish Commune of Belgrade since early 2016.

The director of the Agency, Strahinja Sekulic, said that the Agency had received 67 restitution requests since February 2016, when the law on the restitution of Holocaust victims' assets started being enforced. He also said that 16 facilities, of which 14 business premises, one apartment and one building, had been returned to the Jewish Commune of Belgrade.

Following the talks with the ambassador of the United States of America to Serbia, Kyle Scott, Sekulic said that the ambassador had supported the work of the Agency, showing that way that he thought the institution was doing good work.

Scott emphasized that there were numerous American citizens of Serbian origin who had lost their property and that the Agency helped them get it back.

The ambassador of the USA to Belgrade praised the results of the said law.
