Memorandum on Serbia-Bulgaria pipeline to be signed soon

The Governments of Serbia and Bulgaria agreed on the contents of the new memorandum of understanding on the construction of the Bulgaria-Serbia pipeline at the meeting of the working group for gas connectivity in Central and Southeastern Europe, held in Budapest three days ago.

The memorandum should soon be signed, as confirmed by the Ministry of Energy. It contains a schedule of activities within the project of building a Bulgaria-Serbia gas interconnector.

– The Ministry of Mining and Energy and Srbijagas have created the necessary conditions for gas connectivity of Bulgaria and Serbia in the past period. The memorandum defines this as one the six priority projects for the EU and the region – said Mirjana Filipovic, state secretary of the Ministry of Mining and Energy.

She expects that most of the funds for the Serbian part of the project will come from the IPA fund for 2017.
