Serbia and Belarus improving cooperation in agriculture

Minister of Agriculture and Environmental Protection Branislav Nedimovic talked on Wednesday, September 14, with the deputy minister of agriculture and food of the Republic of Belarus, Vladimir Grakun, about improving the cooperation in the area.

As reported, Nedimovic and Grakun met within the third session of the Serbian-Belarusian working group for cooperation in areas of agriculture and food, on which occasion they exchanged information on the trade of the relevant products between Serbia and Belarus.

It was proposed that the exchange of information should continue regarding the offer of certain relevant products, for which there is demand in both the Serbian and the Belarusian market.

The need for intensifying the cooperation of the relevant veterinary and phytosanitary institutions of both countries was emphasized, the Ministry reported.

The need for improving the cooperation in the area of seed production was especially underscored. Grakun emphasized that Belarus was interested in seed production in Serbia.


There was also talk of the possibility of the cooperation between secondary school institutions in Serbia and Belarus, and there are already positive examples of the cooperation between agricultural and veterinary vocational schools of the two countries.
