Ljig-Preljina highway to be completed in 2016 construction season

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic talked to the ambassador of Azerbaijan, Eldar Hasanov, yesterday about the implementation of joint infrastructural projects and the completion of the Ljig-Preljina highway, which should be realized by the end of the construction season.

At the meeting at the Government of Serbia, attended by Murat Turkoglu, director of Azvirt in Belgrade, Mihajlovic was presented with the latest information about the works on the Ljig-Preljina section of Corridor 11, which Azvirt, as the main contractor, expects to complete by the end of the construction season, reported the Ministry.

Hasanov praised the cooperation with the ministry and thanked the deputy prime minister for support in implementing the project and solving field issues.

Mihajlovic said that it was important for Serbia that such a large infrastructural project be completed properly, despite a certain overstepping of the deadline.

Mihajlovic and Hasanov also talked about the cooperation between the two countries on the project on building the bypass route around Belgrade, on which a memorandum of understanding was signed with the Chinese company Sinohydro and the Azerbaijani Azvirt.
