Tesla Motors presents third fastest serially produced car – Starting price USD 135,000

The USA-based automotive company Tesla Motors has presented a new electric car model, which can travel more than 482 km on a single charge.

The new sports sedan, Model S P100D, has been presented as the third fastest serially produced car ever made, which can go accelerate to 100 km/h in 2.5 second, reports AFP. Only LaFerrari and Porsche 918 Spyder are faster, the company reports.

Model S P100D has four doors, seats for five adults and two children and a trunk.

The starting price of the new model is USD 135,000.

Earlier in August, Tesla Motors recorded a larger loss than expected in the second quarter, as it had worked on stepping up the production due to high demand for its electric vehicles. The company reported a net loss of USD 293.2 million in the second quarter, whereas its loss in the corresponding period of 2015 had amounted to USD 184.2 million.

The income of the Californian company increased to USD 1.27 billion in the second quarter. In the second quarter of 2015, the income amounted to USD 955 million.
