The trailer manufacture department of Zastava INPRO should get a buyer at the tender for the sale of property, which is open till August 15.
The director of the Zastava Vozila Group, Dragan Srejovic, said that the Government of Serbia had given approval for the sale of a part of Zastava INPRO’s property related to trailer manufacture. He added that it was already known that a French partner was interested in buying the Kragujevac-based enterprise and that the goal was for the sale to be completed by September 1.
– The new, privatized enterprise should take 160 Zastava INPRO’s employees, half of which are workers with disabilities. The other part of the enterprise will continue to operate as an inclusion workshop for the manufacture of textile and metal goods – Srejovic said.
According to him, it is expected that the Government of Serbia will decide for a part of the property of Zastava Kamioni to be made into a separate enterprise, free of liabilities and obligations. He explained that the goal is to employ 130 people in the factory in the first phase, and 250 in the second one.
– This is not a conventional privatization, but it is a way of solving the problem of the standing of Zastava Kamioni, as the most important thing is to save the factory and the jobs – Srejovic said and added that the enterprise was repaying its debt towards the state by providing its property and new jobs.
He also said that the decision regarding the Sombor-based factory Specijalna Vozila would be announced in five to six days.
