VUCIC: No dumping prices of steel, we have proof
— What we have here is a clear case of antidumping and proper documentation which shows that we haven’t done anything wrong – Vucic said to the press at the Government of Serbia and added that the Serbian side, together with the Chinese lawyers who had won over 1,000 cases in Brussels, would fight such allegations.
— The situation is clear, and the documentation speaks in our favor – Vucic said and added that he understood those who fought for themselves and their market, but that he would prove them wrong nevertheless.
Vucic also said that there were two parallel procedures, one regarding the investigation by the European Commission over the alleged dumping prices of steel exported from Serbia to the EU, the other regarding the alleged state help.
He said that, regarding the latter, there had been some unclear statements made by the Serbian side which had caused it damage.
— Regarding those irresponsible people in our system, I’m not sure what more can be said, except that they will be removed from all important and responsible functions – Vucic said.
The prime minister repeated that, when it comes to dumping prices of steel, the documentation spoke in favor of the Serbian side.
The European Steel Association, Eurofer, has recently accused five countries of exporting steel to the EU territory below price – Serbia, Russia, Iran, Brazil and Ukraine. The investigation will be carried out for the period from July 1, 2015, till June 30, 2016, in which Zelezara Smederevo was run by the professional management of HPK Engineering, owned by Peter Kamaras.
