"Ikarbus" delivered first 10 buses to company "Veolia" - value of works-1.2m EUR
Company "Ikarbus" delivered the first 10 buses yesterday (January 14,
2008) to company "Veolia Litas" - the branch of multinational company "Veolia", and the CEO of "Ikarbus", Srećko
Nijemčević, announced production of another 500 buses in 2008.
He said that that company planned to achieve record level of production in the past 17 years, as well as that large number of business arrangements in the country and abroad had been concluded thanks to the activities concerning development of the new model.
Nijemčević pointed out that 350 buses would be exported to Dubai (company "Carrington") by the end of September, and that 100 low-floor buses would be delivered to the City Transportation Company "Beograd" by the end of June, 36 vehicles to "Lasta", and 20 buses to certain Italian company.
He said that all buses, if we exclude vehicles that will be delivered to company "Carrington", had EURO 4 engines and were of the quality that met European standards. He added that the delivery of vehicles to Russia would be resumed in October.
According to the words of Nijemčević, there are many parties interested in purchase of "Ikarbus" and tender offers will be opened on February 8.
- Last year, "Ikarbus" developed production of low-floor city and intercity buses and hire more than 50 new workers with the tendency for growth of both production and number of workers - he reminded.
A representative of company "Veolia", Kloes Gothold, said that the delivery of the first ten buses IK-103-P, of which total value was 1.2m
EUR, was only the beginning of the successful cooperation and that company was completely satisfied with the quality of "Ikarbus'" buses.
"Veolia" is one of the world largest transportation companies and it has already bought two transportation companies in Serbia - "LUV - Braća Šarac" and Požarevac-based "Litas".
