Leoni to employ 700 more citizens of Prokuplje by mid-2017
With the help of RSD 2.5 million from the local budget, a hundred people will start their two-month training this month, and all those who complete the training successfully will be hired. Leoni's obligation is to keep the employees for at least six months.
The president of the municipality Aleksandar Simonovic says that earlier experiences show that Leoni mostly keeps those workers who want to stay.
- This is one of the ways in which the local self-government is investing, in order to reduce the unemployment rate in the territory of the municipality of Prokuplje. By the end of the year, we will have set aside means for financing an additional 250 workers, who will be hired by Leoni following the completion of the training – Simonovic said.
He has signed an agreement with general manager of Leoni in Prokuplje Clemens Sachs about financing the training.
- All the trainees have already passed our tests and the application is being carried out through the branch of the National Employment Service. We are always open for new people and those interested may inform themselves on job vacancies through the National Employment Service or directly at the company – Sachs points out.
In its Prokuplje facility, Leoni currently employs around 2,000 workers.
