The Ministry of Agriculture of Serbia has announced that the competent inspection authorities in Serbia are taking measures to determine the truthfulness of the allegations of the harmfulness of Kinder chocolates. Further steps will be taken to that end, as the Ministry has informed Beta.

- We haven't yet received the official notification by the European Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) on this issue – the Ministry has stated.

The president of the National Consumer Organization of Serbia Goran Papovic has invited the Ministry of Agriculture to cooperate on the preparation of the analysis to determine whether there are harmful Kinder chocolates in the Serbian market. He has pointed out that Serbia is the only European country without competent bodies for food safety.

The European consumer protection association Foodwatch has announced that the tests have shown that three chocolate products contain potential carcinogens, among which the Kinder chocolate.

In addition to Kinder, as they have announced, two more children's chocolate brands tested positive.

The association has invited the competent authorities to remove Kinder Riegel, Lindt's Fioretto Nougat Minis and Rübezahl's Sun Rice Classic chocolates from sale because they contain potential carcinogens.
