British Airways to found company "OpenSkies" - direct flights between USA and cities in EU

"British Airways" plans to connect cities in the United States of America with the cities of European Union by introducing direct flights. Forming of the daughter company of "British Airways" – "OpenSkies", is in the pipeline, and the first flights will be carried out on routes New York - Brussels and New York - Paris already in June 2008.

At first, one airplane Boeing 757 from the fleet of "British Airways" will be used for this purpose, and the second airplane will join it by the end of year 2008 and it will be connecting other destinations in EU with the USA.

The calculations are that there will be six airplanes flying on the new lines prior to the end of year 2009. These airplanes will be taken from the existing fleet of "British Airways".
