UDOVICKI: Between 6,000 and 7,000 employees to leave the public administration by the end of 2016
She clarified that, of the 16,500 employees who had left the public administration, around 9,500 had retired, and that five to six thousand had taken severance packages, whereas others had been made redundant earlier.
Udovicki emphasized that the reductions had not been distributed equally and that there were institutions which operated more efficiently, but also those whose activities were no longer necessary. The hardest work, according to her, was done in municipalities, where the number of employees was reduced by around 6,000 to 6,500, whereas around 4,000 left local public enterprises.
