The wind farm La Piccolina near Vrsac, a project of MK Fintel Wind, a joint venture of the Italian company Fintel energia spa and the company MK Group, in the value of EUR 10 million, should be set in motion in the next thirty days. The power of the wind farm will be 6.6 megawatts.

The preparations for the construction of the new wind farm near Vrsac, between Zagajica and Izbiste, are already in progress. It will contain 20 wind generators of the total power of 117 megawatts, and the value of the investment is estimated at around EUR 100 million.

In addition to adopting the detailed regulation plans and other planning documents, Vrsac has successfully cooperated with the investor in other fields as well. The construction of the wind farm employed the local population, which will participate in the next project as well, and other benefits have been announced too.

Vrsac has a big potential when it comes to renewable and alternative sources of energy, and there has been talk about building a wind farm there for over ten years. As well, Serbia has taken upon itself obligations prescribed by the European Parliament, according to which 20% of its energy should be coming from renewable sources by 2020.
