Collecting of tax on property in 12 municipalities of Vojvodina in New Year

In accordance with legal decisions about fiscal decentralization, collecting of tax on property will start in 12 municipalities of Vojvodina in New Year. According to the assistant of the CEO of Republic Administration for Public Incomes of Vojvodina, Aca Vuković, these 12 municipalities are Subotica, Kanjiža, Kovačica, Sombor, Sremska Mitrovica, Bečej, Odžaci, Ruma, Kula, Senta, Inđija and Šid. Other municipalities in Vojvodina will also have to start collecting tax on property by the end of year 2008.

- None of the municipalities started that job this year although the Law on financing of local self-government made that possible for them - says Vuković.

- I expect that municipalities will be soon collecting tax for transfer of absolute rights, purchase and sale of real estates, and we organize education for their workers every day in order to do the job without mistakes – said he.
