Beogradska Industrija Piva failed to find a renter once again yesterday. The bid opening procedure at the Agency for Licensing Administrative Receivers has been delayed. During the early hours of the day three bids were submitted, but the commission decided to “pause” the procedure until further notice, with the explanation that a “formal legal interpretation of certain facts and circumstances” was necessary.

As it was expected, Macedonian businessmen Svetozar Janeski, who registered his company M-6 EDEN SRB last year, company Unodrop and company 300 Cuda all wished to enter the business and technical cooperation.

Janevski said that if his bid were successful, he wouldn't be thinking of buying the brewery out of bankruptcy.

- Certain investments are necessary to keep the production going. We have set aside EUR 1.5 mil for the purpose. We're thinking of building a new brewery at another location. It has no chance of surviving where it is now. BIP needs to be reorganized. We would know immediately whether there would be 120 or 160 employees.
