French consortium MDP Consulting – Compagnie des Alpes secures guarantees for Brezovica ski center

He stated that a special committee would look over the documentation submitted by the French company in the next ten days in order to check if everything is in accordance with the contract on the privatization of Brezovica ski center.

Mustafa's statement was made only a few hours after the expiration of the deadline for the submission of the documentation, so the entire project was pronounced unsuccessful by the Pristina media.

The best offer in the international Brezovica ski center tender in December 2014 was given by the French-Andorran consortium MDP Consulting, together with operating company Compagnie des Alpes.

The French consortium has proposed the development of tourist center Brezovica to be carried out in three stages, with EUR 410 mil of investments and the opening of more than 3,000 jobs. They have also announced the building of 100 km of paths, more than 20 ski-lifts and other infrastructure.

The Government of Kosovo and MDP Consulting signed an agreement in April 2015 on the public-private partnership for building, financing, operating and maintaining Brezovica tourist center.

According to the agreement, guarantees for the first stage of the project should be given within six months. Since this was not done, the consortium was given a new deadline, which expired on May 31 at noon.
