The continuation of the public enterprises reforms will be one of the priorities of the future Government, with IMF's eyes being set on Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) in particular. The acting general manager of EPS Milorad Grcic said that, starting June 1, EPS would change its way of operation and that EPS Snabdevanje had been joined to EPS.

According to what he said, EPS would continue to reorganize with the help of the Government of Serbia. Grcic added that, thanks to the joining of EPS Snabdevanje, buyers wouldn't notice any differences.

When asked if the integration of the companies meant letting go employees, Grcic said that it didn't change anything, since very few people, around 100, had worked at Snabdevanje, and the number of employees at EPS had already been reduced by that much.

The acting general manager of EPS emphasized that, although the price of electrical energy was the lowest one in the region, it wouldn't be raised.

- In accordance with our results, profits, earnings and savings, we will be able to operate without raising the price of electrical energy – stated Grcic and added that, in the first three months, a profit 6.5 times larger than expected had been made and that around EUR 42 mil had been made in exporting electrical energy in the first four months of 2016.

He also said that EPS planned to reduce its fleet by 1.000 vehicles and a number of expensive vehicles before the end of the year.

- We have already started talking about selling 1,000 cars, with the first 99 already being in the process of selling, and we have also formed a team of experts who will prepare a realistic estimation of the number of vehicles needed by each department. We are planning to make the entire vehicle fleet uniform, which will save us a lot of money – stated Grcic.
