Aqua park in Doljevac to start operating on June 20 – An investment worth 1.7 mil EUR
On June 20, on a 30-hectare surface, near the beltway around Doljevac, an aqua park will start operating. The “Midnight Rose” company invested 1.7 mil EUR in this project, and one of the owners, Aleksandar Tosic, says that, in addition to water activities, a hotel, a discotheque and a shopping center will be opened.
Up till now, the residents of this part of Serbia had to go to Sokobanja, or even Jagodina, to visit the nearest aqua parks. The location of the new one is ideal for around half a million people. Still, the investors remained secretive, so that even a month before the opening, little was known about it, including whether the construction had started at all. It is situated in close proximity to the highway, at the hub where the old and the new road from Doljevac to Leskovac diverge.
- We didn't want to boast until everything had been finished. I believe that this object will be the pride of this area. It will be larger and offer more content than “Podina” in Sokobanja, but smaller than the one in Jagodina – says Tosic, noting that the ticket prices will be 300 RSD for adults and 250 RSD for children.
As for the residents of Nis, they won't be able to swim at “Lozni kalem” near Niska Banja this year either.
- We have signed a memorandum of understanding with “Aqua Terra Solutions”, whose owner is Sahrem Hajdarpasic from Budva. The project is worth nearly 9 mil EUR, and the construction should begin as soon as they have finished building the aqua park in the center of Montenegrin tourism. Still, it's not realistic to expect that this will happen before the fall – says Deputy Mayor of Nis Ljubivoje Slavkovic.
No cornerstone due to the campaign
Head of the Municipality of Doljevac Goran Ljubic says that the aqua park will stimulate other economic activities in this area, and denies having competed with Nis, announcing cooperation instead.
The construction of the object commenced in the midst of the election campaign, but didn't feature the traditional laying of the cornerstone!
