Suma Chakrabarti was again elected President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), with the four-year mandate, and in his statement to Tanjug, he has said that he still supports the reforms in Serbia and in the West Balkans countries.

Chakrabarti has, on the margins of the annual EBRD Conference, told to the Tanjug reporter, that the bank invested a lot of efforts into the West Balkans region, and reminded that two investment summits were held in London in the focus of which was this very region, in particular cross-border projects, sectors of energy and infrastructure.

- We believe that it is the right way and we will head in that direction again - said Chakrabarti.

He announced that the EBRD also wants to help gathering of the West Balkans economies together through cross-border projects, but to go on helping the countries to continue with reforms as well.

For instance, in Serbia we have currently the process of privatization, Bosnia and Herzegovina is going through reforms....Those countries should be supported, when it comes to reforms, as well as in their efforts on the EU accession path - said Chakrabarti.

The Council of governors, representing 67 share-holders, i.e. 65 countries plus EU and EBRD, elected Chakrabarti again, with the four-year mandate.
