HBIS the only bidder for Zelezara Smederevo - April 5 will tell how much Chinese company is ready to pay

Opening of bids for privatization of Zelezara Smederevo was held on Friday at noon and Chinese company HBIS was the only one which submitted a bid. Opening of financial bids will be April 5.

Minister of trade, Zeljko Sertic, said that in the next few days it will be known whether Chinese company HBIS submitted proper documentation in privatization tender for Zelezara Smederevo and added that otherwise there is a plan B but he is confident that it will not essential.

Initial sales price of property at Zelezara is app. EUR 45.7 m, which is 50 % of estimated market value at the end of 2015.

HBIS previously announced it will open a factory in Smederevo for welded pipes where it would invest app. EUR 300 m.
