"Ball Packaging Europe" announces opening of production units in India

Company "Ball Corporation" has announced that its European branch office, "Ball Packaging Europe", plans construction of unit for production of tin cans for drinks in India. The unit, which will be in the vicinity of Aurangabad, the state of Maharastra, will be strategically positioned to supply most of the existing and projected bottling lines.

Administrative procedure is close to end and it can be expected that the first "Ball's" tin can will be produced in India in mid-2009.

- India is one of the largest potential markets for tin cans in the world and we are very interested in developing business in that country - said R. David Hoover, Head of the Administrative Board and General Manager of "Ball Packaging Europe".
