EBRD ready for new projects in Serbia - Investments in agriculture, service sector and production in the pipeline
The Summit in London is important both politically and economically because it shows that countries can work with each other as well as perform economically together as a group.
- All countries of the western Balkans individually represent small economies. Serbia is the largest economy among them and has the largest investment potential. If the whole region is presented to investors as a common place to invest in, then it can be attractive to them - Berg said in his guest appearance on the RTS news programme Dnevnik.
He stressed that the EBRD had been making significant investments in Serbia to date, adding that they would like to invest even more in the future.
- We would like to invest primarily in the private sector, agriculture, service sector and production. We are also working with the Government on investments in infrastructure - said Berg.
According to him, elections won't affect the intentions of the EBRD which expects the future Serbian government to resume reforms shortly.
When it comes to the Summit in London, Berg expects it to attract some investors who have never been in this region before and are ready to invest.
