U.S. Stratex and Turkey's Dogus to expand marina in Budva - Initial investment valued at EUR 35 million

A partnership between the U.S. company Stratex and Turkey's Dogus Group, which entails the modernization and expansion of marina in Budva, will contribute to the positioning of that city among the top tourist destination in the Mediterranean, said the representatives of these companies.
An agreement they signed calls for the construction of five-star nautical destination that would be open the whole year long. Initial investment is valued at EUR 35 million, and the plan is to increase the marina's capacity to 600 berths.
Montenegrin Tourism and Sustainable Development Minister Branimir Gvozdenovic said that the project was specific, given it was in the vicinity of Old Town.
- The project is being implemented by a serious international company that already manages about 20 marinas in Europe - he noted.
He added that with that project and those already implemented, such as marina in Kotor, Lustica Bay and Portonovi, Montenegro had started building the image of an important nautical destination.
