According to information from Telma television, debt which Carrefour has not been paying for months may have reached EUR 10 m.

That was the reason why Chamber of Commerce of Macedonia on behalf of more than 50 companies to which a hypermarket owns, asks from Macedonian government to involve into the problem of solving that debt.

Companies which have claims from CMB Balkans Skoplje, a franchise of Carrefour in Macedonia, had a meeting a few days ago where they decided to inform the government on that debt and ask finance police participate in the case as well as the Directorate for public income and the Ministry of internal affairs.

Carrefour hypermarket in Skoplje closed on Thursday. During previous months, buyers could see almost empty shelves with only a few products and major number of cash registry desks was closed. After New Year’s and Christmas holidays, employees sent a letter to media where they state their salaries have not been paid.
