Construction of Centers of Excellence commenced in Kragujevac - EUR 14 million complex opens April 2017

With the construction of stem cell bank, Serbia creates conditions to keep, use and explore stem cells of its citizens, Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic said at the ceremony of laying the foundation stone of the Kragujevac University Centers of Excellence.

The biggest investment in higher education and medicine in Serbia in the last few decades will include the construction of six research centers, among which are the Stem Cell Research Center and the Stem Cell Bank.

This one-of-the-kind scientific and research institute in this part of Europe will occupy an area of 11,500 square meters. Its construction and equipping is financed by the European Investment Bank with EUR 10 million, while the City of the Kragujevac University invested EUR 4 million in the project.

The plan is to finish the construction of the Kragujevac University Centers of Excellence by April 2017.
