Nikola Tesla Airport is getting ready for long-line air traffic - Investments in 2016 will total RSD 4,2 billion
The Nikola Tesla Airport in Belgrade is getting ready to set up overseas flights of Air Serbia to New York as of June and total investments of the airport in 2016 will total RSD 4,2 billion, acting GM at the company, Sasa Vlaisavljevic said
- More than RSD 800 m will be invested in safety, while more than 3,4 billion will be set aside for other projects– Vlaisavljevic said for Tanjug.
Following the trend of increase in scope of air traffic, Belgrade’s airport is expanding capacities in line with responsible business which implies preparation for continuation for air traffic expansion. Vlaisavljević outlines investment cycle started in 2015 will continue based on extraordinary financial results in the past two years which were record ones.
- Within the implementation of short-term plans with an objective to increase operational capacities and commercial offer, continuation of rehabilitation and development of Terminal 1 is planned and connecting one between Terminal 1 and 2 - Vlaisavljevic said.
He said that the airport will reconstruct, extend and build new waiting rooms and then start expansion of Terminal 2 with assembly of 11.000 m2 new space. Vlaisavljevic added that construction of a new fire protection basis will start also.
