Official checkpoint D for cars opened at Nikola Tesla Airport - Additional EUR 5 million required to wrap up preparations for flights to America

Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic opened today a new facility with a modern security equipment at the Belgrade airport Nikola Tesla. Vucic ceremoniously opened the official checkpoint D for vehicles entering the secured and restricted zone of the airport. This opening ceremony was also attended by Serbian Construction, Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Zorana Mihajlovic.
The prime minister twitted that Nikola Tesla Airport was ready for flights to the United States of America and that additional 120 cabin crew members and 30 pilots would be hired for that purpose.
Vucic explained that it was necessary to tighten security measures because of flights to the USA, adding that another EUR 5 million were required to raise the airport control to a higher level.
As the prime minister explained, every vehicle will now be inspected thanks to the official checkpoint D.
According to him, one of the objectives for 2016 is to make it possible for Air Serbia to land at the airport in Pristina.
The new facility at Nikola Tesla Airport has a surface area of 340 square meters and is valued at approximately RSD 50 million.
