Supplements to the Law on Belgrade Waterfront adopted - Special permits for preparation works enabled
166 parliament members voted “for” and nine was against it.
These are special permits for preparation works which imply demolishing of the existing facilities, relocation of infrastructure, cleaning of the field, ground works, etc.
As explained, the investor has encountered problems in practice, i.e. it was noticed that demanding the most complex facilities cannot be built unless the law is changed.
The law specifies that these are facilities with an area greater than 30.000 m2 and that the works will be carried out in two stages.
Lex specialis on the Belgrade Waterfront project was adopted at the Assembly of Serbia in April this year and the law specifies that on area of app. 177 ha more than a million square meters of residential area is built.
Construction of app. 750.000 m2 of office and commercial space was planned, more than 62.000 m2 public facilities such as kindergartens, schools, institution of culture, social and health care institutions and app. 242.000 m2 new green areas.
A cornerstone was placed in September for the construction of the first tower within Belgrade Waterfront.
