Tender for Zelezara in February 2016 - Chinese HBIS is the most serious candidate

The minister of trade Zeljko Sertic has said today that tender for Zelezara Smederevo could be published in February 2016 and that offer of Chinese HBIS is the most serious at the moment.

The minister added that during December “all teams have been on site already” that entire investment program and prepared business plan should be delivered”.

He added that in January all other negotiation things, headcount, talks with trade unions and management should end.

- I think we can release tender in February. It must be public, anyone can apply but at the moment we do not have a more serious offer than Chinese HBIS delivered – Sertic said for TV Pink and reminded that upon the visit of the delegation of Serbia in China they signed a memorandum, which implies these deadlines. The minister said he is an optimist when it comes to strategic partnership, explaining it is the reason for optimism if that kind of vision is confirmed by Chinese president Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Li Keqiang .
