Approximately 3500 beds "surplus" - Serbia is not giving up on privatization of 13 medical centers in Serbian spas
The Government of Serbia is not giving up on privatization of 13 medical centers in Serbian spas but as for now it is obvious that there will be no entire sale of institutions only so-called surplus capacity.
At the recently held meeting, it was defined that out of 7.288 beds in special hospitals, 3.500 is surplus. Apart from beds in special institutions, surplus does not comprise some facilities and land.
The list of 13 centers to go under hammer with surplus capacities is six centers from south and southeast Serbia - Zubor in Kursumlija, Ribarska banja, Niska Banja institute, Gejzer in Sijarinska Banja, Bujanovac and Sokobanja.
According to the announcement from the Ministry of Health, surplus capacity will be defined separately for each spa center and the need of hospitals will be taken into account as well as their importance for the regional level.
