At its session today, the Government of Serbia adopted several draft laws and a decision tasking the Health Ministry with preparing an appropriate act, in cooperation with the Finance Ministry, which will ensure funds are set aside for urgent implementation of public procurement of investment and ongoing maintenance services for medical institutions.

As the Government's Media Cooperation Office announced, investment in the maintenance of healthcare facilities will improve working conditions, provide an adequate space for the stay and treatment of patients, and enhance the quality of medical services.

Serbian Health Minister Zlatibor Loncar has recently announced that all hospitals in the country will have their walls whitewashed and floors and toilets repaired by mid-2016.
