Tanjug to shut down by the end of November - Only reimbursements instead of free shares to the employees
Press agency Tanjug will be shut down and the employees will be paid reimbursements, state secretary, Sasa Mirkovic, said for B92.
The Government of Serbia made a Decision on legal consequences on halt of operations of PC Press agency Tanjug, having in mind that Paragraph 146 of the Law on public informing and media implies that the Law on PC press agency Tanjug will stop operations with the date of signing the sakes contract, i.e. October 31, 2015 latest, the Ministry for culture and informing communicated.
As communicated, during the previous months, the Agency for privatization organized two public calls for sale of Tanjug which were declared to be a failure since no buyers were interested. In line with the Law on informing and media, the Government of Serbia, as communicated, made Decision on legal consequences of halt of operations of Public company newspaper agency Tanjug.
The decision, among other things, implies, among other things, that all the employees will get reimbursements in line with the Program of handling surplus manpower in the privatization process as well as that they will be paid for work in the period until the Decision on legal consequences of halt of operations of Public company newspaper agency Tanjug, which will be published at the Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia.
