A latest study has discovered that the average person checks their mobile phone every ten minutes, that is, 85 times a day.

If somebody asked you how much time you spend on your smartphone, what would you reply? According to a recent study led by Nottingham Trent University, most people are unaware of the time they spend on their phone, which is why they were asked to install an app on their device to learn the real truth.

People aged between 18 and 33 who participated in this study were checking their phone every ten minutes for various reasons: surfing the net, using the apps, listening to music, or just checking the time, and they looked at their phone screen as many as 85 times per day.

One of the conclusions of this study is that people have very little awareness of the frequency with which they check their phone.

Also, this study has showed that we check our phone more often in the afternoon and evening than in the morning or at night, usually just accessing the home screen to see if there are some missed calls or unread texts and emails, and these short bursts last less than 30 seconds on average, zimo.dnevnik.hr reports.
