Economy of Svilajnac too big for a "small" bridge at the Morava - It takes EUR 11 m for the new one

The bridge at the Velika Morava which connects Svilajnac with the highway Belgrade- Nis at Markovac, became too tight and a halt in development of the economy of that region.

The problem of a modern bridge through which road and railway traffic develop is not new but now when one must wait for days and nights for transferring due to large number of vehicles since in Svilajnac over the past few years a few foreign companies started operating.

New bridge and a bypass of 11 km total EUR 11 m which the municipality does not have, Milanovic said and explained that the bridge at Svilajnac is used by municipalities Despotovac, Zabari, Petrovac and a large part of the east Serbia.

Svilajnac stepped out of the group from undeveloped areas thanks to successful company business in Industrial zone "Veliko polje".

In this Industrial zone, and in the previous seven years Svilajnac opened the second one, there is plant of Japanese company Panasonic - Panasonic Elektric Works Vossloh - Schwabe Serbia (PEWVS) for production of energy efficient electronic components for lightning bodies in Serbia and a few more foreign companies from Israel, Netherlands and Switzerland.

Apart from Panasonic, a big exporter from Svilajnac is a plant of the Italian company Conti 3 srl, a partner of Fiat and others.
