A step closer to energy efficient buildings - Memorandum on cooperation between GIZ and Pirot municipality signed

One of the first municipalities in Serbia which showed firm decisiveness in developing energy efficiency in residential sector is Pirot municipalities. The first step towards that objective is check and analysis of the existing fund and then estimation of potential energy savings, proposal of adequate measures for energy building rehabilitation and definition of the next steps and activity owner.

In that sense, president of the Pirot municipality, Vladan Vasic, and GIZ team leader of the "Energy efficiency in building construction", Renate Schindlbeck, have signed today Memorandum on cooperation which officially, featured the start of cooperation in the field of development of the Local action plan for development of energy efficiency in building construction. This way, the Pirot municipality will be among the first ones in Serbia (apart from Vrbas, Ivanjica and Sokobanja) which will have an overview of the existing fund and will have the chance to plan seriously different programs of rehabilitation of residential buildings.
