Gierlinger to start production in Mitros facilities in February 2016 - Meat products primarily for Russia

Austrian meat processing and packing company Gierlinger works on the modernization of Mitros company in Sremska Mitrovica and plans to commence production in February 2016.
- It will be an excellent production facility - says Johan Gierlinger, the owner of the company that took over Mitros in Sremska Mitrovica this spring. He underlines that the slaughterhouse where meat will be processed is undergoing modernization.
Gierlinger points out that all the work will be finished by the year's end and that meat processing and packing in the production plant will begin February 2016.
This plant will be making meat products for the markets of Russia and Europe.
- The first phase will see the production of traditional Austrian products for Russia - Gierlinger announces and adds that the European market will later be supplied with ham, which is a product this company has never before produced abroad.
With a surface area of 23,000 square meters, the new production plant of Gierlinger in Serbia is the biggest within the group. The Austrian company announced before it would hire up to thousand workers, but when and whether it would really happen depends on production, that is, commissioning of this production facility.
Based on the agreement, Gierlinger is to invest EUR 20 million in the production plant in Sremska Mitrovica by 2017.
