The red ribbon was ceremoniously cut by Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of External Affairs Ivica Dacic and Topola Chairperson Dragan Jovanovic.
As it was pointed out at the opening ceremony, reopening of the winery PIK Oplenac represents the highlight of the 52nd Oplenac Harvest in Topola. This municipality is already home to six renowned wineries and, with the opening of one more wine cellar, Topola is becoming a winemaking hub in Serbia. Russian partners have recognized the quality and capacity of this area and their investment is of great importance, it was underlined on this occasion.
New owners, Nebojsa Jocic from Serbia and Andrey Semikin from Russia provided 30% of the required investment in the renovation of this winery, which is approximately EUR 3 million. As they pointed out, their intention was to provide this winery with a capacity to make 5 million liters of wine within the next four years as well as to hire more workers.
The opening ceremony was attended by a large number of guests, TV Kanal 9 reports.
