Raspberry export from Serbia is not endangered - EU intensifies supervision for noro-virus
As of October 1, EU will introduce more intensive, preventive supervision, for import of raspberries from Serbia for noro-virus and as the Ministry of agriculture communicated for Tanjug, our export of that fruit is not endangered and it is the mildest kind of such measures.
Serbia is one of the leading raspberry exporters in the world and the measure was introduced to prevent potential virus.
The Ministry outlines that for years, there has been continuous education of producers to provide hygiene conditions which are key for noro-virus prevention.
Namely, the virus can appear in the season of harvest if fruit is manipulated with dirty hands.
This summer also, before harvest, expert departments at the Ministry, phyto-sanitary inspectors and representatives of the Directorate for plants protection, toured the site and provided producers with clear instructions.
