Apple has not yet made a final decision on whether to allow stock apps on iOS devices to be deleted, although its CEO, Tim Cook, confirmed in a talk with BuzzFeed that they were intensively considering this.

Ever since the first iPhone was launched, Apple simply made stock apps undeletable, and nothing has changed in that regard to date. Regardless of whether you, for example, use the app Mail to read your electronic mail or you switched to another one, whether Safari is your favorite web browser or not, whether you read stock exchange news or not, Apple's stock apps are simply there and cannot be deleted from your phone.

A substantial number of users was not satisfied with this concept, they complained that Apple should allow greater flexibility, but people at that company did not really care about that…

We obviously live in a time when many things "carved in IT stone" are changing, so this one can change too.

- This is a more complex issue than it first appears. There are some apps that are linked to something else on the iPhone. If they were to be removed they might cause issues elsewhere on the phone. There are other apps that aren't like that. So over time, I think with the ones that aren't like that, we will fiture out a way for you to remove them - Cook explains.

Of court, the crucial question now is which apps will remain undeletable, and which ones will be allowed to be deleted.

Unofficially, an integral part of iOS will be apps Mail, Safari, Camera and App Store, while Stocks, Compass and Tips (first introduced in iOS 8) will be made deletable.

When and whether this will finally happen, Cook did not reveal, but he said publicly that they were considering this, so there should not be doubt it will really happen, zimo.dnevnik.hr reports.
