Soon agreement with Lithuania on avoidance of double taxation
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Petras Vaitiekunas, estimated yesterday (August 28, 2007) in Belgrade that the businessmen from that country were willing to invest in Serbia due to large potential of Serbia's economy.
At the Business Forum Serbia-Lithuania in the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia, he said that the business climate in Serbia was optimal, that the country was the leader in the region and that it had good legal framework.
Vaitiekunas said that the two countries had been preparing agreement on avoidance of double taxation, which should enable better economic cooperation between Serbia and Lithuania.
Minister of Trade and Services, Predrag Bubalo, represented economic indexes of Serbia, pointing out that the growth of gross domestic product in the first six months of this year amounted to 8.7%, with the inflation of 4.2% and industrial growth of 5.2%.
Speaking about foreign-trade exchange in that period, he said that the value of trade with the world amounted to 9.1 billion EUR, with the deficit of 3.1 billion EUR.
