Foreign trading exchange between Serbia and Russia increases 30% on annual basis
Foreign exchange of Serbia and Russia in the past four years has been on the increase of 30%, VP of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, Miroslav Miletic, said.
After the meeting with the business delegation of Russia, which is headed by the head of Moscow Expocenter and chamber of commerce, Sergey Bednov, said the trend has continued in the first half this year as well and that similar growth is expected in the next period as well.
- I expect that by the end of the year, the exchange growth will double, Miletic said.
According to him, the fair such as Expocenter in Moscow which has app. 1,7 million visitors, USD 800 m total turnover and which is “a reflective noun for our fairs” can help companies in finding partners in Russia.
- Therefore, we have to organize and prepare our companies well, together will everyone who can help and use our potentials – he said.
Miletic said Serbia, apart from food also has software to export to Russia.
- Many Serbian companies and organizations export quality software and there should export resources apart from food be looked for, Miletic said.
Bednov said to journalist that it is noticeable that Serbian companies have recognized that due to sanctions EU imposed on Russia, food products export is open in that country.
Thus, presence of these companies in fairs in Russia is a few times higher, Bendov said.
- Serbian companies felt it so presence at fairs and exhibitions in food have increased. It is not only about fruit and vegetables but meat for instance as well. We expect increased number of Serbian exhibitors at Expocenter – Bendov said.
He said there is an option of national presentation of Serbia at the fair and added that Russian side is ready to define terms with partner.
According to him, national approach implies not only commercial, business part but it can also be cultural program, product tasting, etc.
