Entire production for export - Moda Campania opens new textile plant in Novi Pazar
Moda Campania opened a new textile factory on Monday 14 September 2015 in the village Bele Vode near Novi Pazar. By the beginning of 2017 it will employ a staff of 330.
Moda Campania produces clothes and textiles – twill and denim trousers. The entire production plan is aimed at the export market: Italy, Slovenia and Hungary, with negotiations under way with Germany and Russia.
Initial investment in the factory is at present EUR 750,000, and by the end of 2018 another EUR 2.7m will be invested, bringing the total investment close to EUR 3.5m.
Moda Campania employs 50 staff at the moment, 80 more are planned by the end of this year and in the coming year another 150, so the next phase at the beginning of 2017 will see a further 50 taken on, making a total of 330.
The plant has until now exported 11,000 pieces of its production with another 5,500 in preparation.
Deputy Premier and Minister for Foreign and Domestic Trade and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajić said that the factory is the first significant foreign investment in Novi Pazar.
“This is a chance we can't miss, this is an opportunity to send the best possible image of Serbia and Novi Pazar”, said Ljajić.
He added that the Italian partners had come to Serbia without a dinar of state subsidy, as they recognised Novi Pazar and Serbia as a high quality investment destination.
Commenting that Italy is Serbia's first foreign trade partner, Ljajić added that last year's annual exchange was worth EUR 3.6bn and that 600 Italian companies are working in Serbia employing 25,000 staff.
“Novi Pazar is back on the textile map of Serbia and the region”, said Ljajić.
Owner of the company Moda Campania Angelo Amirati said that Novi Pazar has a large capacity and high quality work force.
“We recognised Novi Pazar amid strong competition as a town that can provide the quality Europe is looking for in the fashion industry”, declared Amirati.
Deputy President of the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia Miroslav Miletić said that Novi Pazar has become the centre of textile production and that it is no surprise that the Italian partner recognised this town.
“Every new job is a small working victory for the whole country. For the worker, for his family and for the whole community”, said Miletić.
He asserted that a balanced territorial representation was very important and that the Serbian Chamber of Commerce would thus pay special attention to less developed areas.
It was announced at the opening that in the near future another company from the Italian city of Napoli that produces women's clothes will build a factory that will provide between 600 and 1,000 jobs.
