The Board of Creditors of the chemical company PKS Lateks in bankruptcy has decided to sell this firm as a juristic person, and the Privatization Agency will soon advertise the sale. As assessed by the Uzice-based agency Olimpija, the value of the chemical plant as a juristic person is RSD 1.13 billion.
According to a creditor of the Agency, Petar Vulovic, the new owner will gain right to use building land, patents, copyrights, technology, certificates, licenses and permits. He noted that the new owner had nothing to do with the chemical plant's financial obligations that would be partially met using the proceeds of the sale of insolvent estate.
PKS Lateks was sold 20 December 2002 for EUR 80,000 to HLC Chemie Trade from Frankfurt, owned by Bozidar Lakicevic. At the time, it used to employ 258 workers.
PKS Lateks filed for bankruptcy on 25 December 2006, when it had 212 employees, while bankruptcy became legally binding on 10 October 2010.
