EAR provides funds for modernization of remote heating system in Pančevo

Works on revitalization and modernization of remote heating system in Pančevo have been carried out starting from the signing of the Memorandum of agreement in June between the European Agency for REconstruction, Municipality of Pančevo and Public Utility Company "Grejanje", within the scope of "Project for construction of hot water pipeline from heating plant Kotež to settlements Tesla and Strelište".

According to the words of the Manager of "Grejanje", Dejan Tucović, installation of hot water pipelines in settlement Strelište and reconstruction of pumping system in Heating Plant Kotež are currently in progress. The project implies turning off of eight boiler rooms that use crude oil as fuel. Also, two boiler rooms in Strelište settlement will be turned off prior to the beginning of this-year heating season.

The value of the project is 3.43m EUR, and the works on construction and putting hot water pipeline in operation should be completed prior to September 30, 2008.
