Free zone of Belgrade set up
The Free zone of Belgrade will officially be founded today and on two locations on 98 ha, investors will be provided with numerous options.
At the meeting of the City Assembly, the imitied liability company was set up for managing the Free zone of Belgrade.
The proposal to set up the Free zone was supported by all parliament parties though DS had a few remarks to the proposal.
Explaining the proposal, the mayor Sinisa Mali said that with Frees zone set up better investment environment is created and that investors are offered more favorable and specific business terms.
He outlined Chinese company Meita with which contract was signed yesterday and which will build its own plant at the location of former Prva Iskra Baric and invest EUR 60 m and hire 1400 people.
President of Obrenovac municipality, Miroslav Cuckovic, said getting the company which hires thousands of people worldwide is a great news for Serbia, especially for Belgrade and Obrenovac.
