Average wheat yield, excellent grain quality

This year's yield of wheat, which is being harvested now, will be average and amount to 2.3 million tonnes, and the grain quality is excellent, Agriculture Minister Snezana Bogosavljevic Boskovic said today.
She invited farmers not to sell wheat before September because the price of this crop is expected to go up in the autumn.
Estimates are that over 40% of the total yield can be exported.
- We expect production of 2.3 million tonnes... 1.3 million of which are for Serbia, meaning that about 1 million tonnes can be exported - Bogosavljevic Boskovic concluded.
