EUR 2.5 billion investments in Montenegrin tourism

(Montenegro) Investors are going to invest nearly EUR 2.5 billion in 14 priority projects in the field of tourism in Montenegro, and these new investments will contribute to stronger economy and higher living standard across the entire country, the daily Dnevne Novine reports.
Orascom Development Holding from Switzerland plans to make the biggest investment in Montenegrin tourism - in the implementation of the Lustica Bay Resort project in Tivat. A total value of this investment is approximately EUR 1.1 billion.

This investment program calls for the continuation of construction of a resort comprised of eight hotels (3,310 hotel rooms, 60% of the capacity with five or more stars), 1,250 residential units (including villas and suites), Talaso center, and two marinas with bertsh and accompanying amenities, the Montenegrin Tourism Ministry said in a release.
There will also be an 18-hole golf course that will be open all year long, a conference center, stores, restaurants, primary school, health centers...
According to the data provided by the Government of Montenegro, the Adriatic Marinas company will invest nearly EUR 32 million in the Porto Montenegro project in 2015 alone. The plan is also to start preparation works of bigger scale on Plavi Horizonti site.

This year will also see the commencement of construction of the new hotel Chedi Kraljicina plaza, which should be built by Adriatic Properties, said people at the Tourism Ministry.

It is estimated that the investment in Chedi Kraljicina plaza Hotel will amount to EUR 54 million, EUR 27 million of which will be provided under a credit arrangement with the EBRD.

The biggest tourism project in the central part of the country is being implemented in Podgorica. It is the construction of Hilton Hotel, on which EUR 21.4 million have been spent so far, while additional EUR 15 million will be invested this year.
