Smederevo gets two new production facilities

Smederevo Mayor Dr. Jasna Avramovic and the owner of the engineering, trade and construction company ITG signed an Agreement yesterday (14 April 2015) to build a new production facility to be owned by the city, the web portal of the City of Smederevo reports.

- The City of Smederevo is building another production facility of 3,500 square meters where people of Smederevo will start working in September. Construction works are to be finished in 90 days. The best bid for the implementation of this project came from a contractor from Smederevo - ITG, and today we are signing an agreement with Milija Barovic, the owner, hoping that this facility too will be completed three days before the deadline and employ 100 new workers - the mayor pointed out. She said that the construction of this new production facility would cost RSD 113 million, which was the most favorable bid submitted. The investor is the City of Smederevo, whereas the renter is an Italian company. The building parcel is situated in the Industrial Park in the Free Zone, in the vicinity of the previously built production facility for PKC. - The foundation stone for this facility will be laid on the same day when the Italian company is expected to commence the construction of another facility of 7,800 square meters, the first of the three within the future 13,000 square meter complex - the mayor added. Brance Stojanovic, the city assembly speaker, reminded that the construction of new production plant would be financed with the remaining funds from the loan arrangement approved for the construction of PKC facility. According to the mayor of Smederevo, the new production facility of PKC is currently employing about 600 workers.
