SERTIC: Cancellation of protection from trustees will not cause collapse

The government will remove blockade from one number of companies, the minister said but it will see to the fact that problems of these companies are solved, either through bankruptcy, privatization or in some other way.

-After legislation deadline expires, i.e. May 31, the state will have to continue protecting strategic firms, twenty plus or minus of them – the minister said after the meeting with representatives of the Agency for Business Registries.

The Ministry of trade will suggest which companies the state will continue to protect i.e. which are the strategic ones and final decision on it will be made by the Government of Serbia, the minister said.

He outlined that it is imperative of the state is faster, more efficient and transparent privatization and deadlines will not be extended.

According to his words, the government is ready to sell at minimal price i.e. for a euro, the companies with negative capital but in that case, obligations of buyers will be clearly defined.

In his commenting of statement of the head of the Agency for privatization, Ljubomir Subara that deadlines could be extended and that law governs only deadline for transformation of companies with state-owned capital.

There are, he says, 80 of some which is a smaller part compare to the list of 512 planned to be privatized.
