SUBARA: Privatization of 512 firms will not end by 2015
- The main things to be blamed are some incomplete legal provisions, property
issues, bureaucracy as well as the staff at the Agency for privatization and
companies waiting for buyers – since when
this process ends, they will lose jobs– Subara said in his interview for
Politika.
According to him, the Law on privatization
which became effective as of August 13, 2014, comprised some options but dates
when events will follow but it was related to certain deadlines with respect to
law implementation.
He mentioned PIK Zemun for which unrealistic price was set as an example.
Upon the statement of Politika that it was promised that thirty tenders will be released in January and that only four were released, Subara said the Agency hardly released even these four.
Subara added that it should be taken into an account that many do not like privatization
to end.
- It is certain there is a fear of the employees at the Agency for privatization
that one day they will be jobless. Management in these companies does not like
it either. Then, there is bureaucracy between the Agency for privatization, the
Ministry of trade, Agency for restitution, Geodetic Bureau. Everyone adds a bit of its of
bureaucracy and when we sum it up, this is what you get. Now we are trying to
turn everything upside down – Subara specified.
